This is a lovely small antique painted book shaped box with decorative clasp. The box is wood, painted black and lacquered. The lid has a painted picture of a bird, with trees and leaves, with a round copper disc in the centre. The front metal clasp has a decorative design. Inside is one compartment.
In fair condition for its age, the wood has some marks and knocks and there has been a repair on the lid. It has a pretty charm. Please see images.
